About Us

Introduction

Sonia is a contemporary sound practitioner dedicated to wellness and the creation of immersive sound meditation experiences. Her work is grounded in deep listening, resonance and sustained sound environments that invite stillness, presence and heightened perceptual awareness. Through experiential, non-verbal sound practices, she creates spaces that support emotional regulation, reflection and connection in both personal and community settings.

Sonia was born in a small village in northern Poland with a population of fewer than fifty people, yet from an early age she felt a strong pull to see the world beyond her immediate surroundings. This early curiosity about people, cultures and different ways of living became a defining thread throughout her life. She later left Poland to study in the United Kingdom, and these experiences, followed by extensive travel across more than sixty countries, shaped her understanding of sound as a universal, non-verbal language that supports presence, reflection and meaningful connection across cultures.

After settling in Australia in 2012, Sonia committed herself fully to the study and practice of sound meditation and wellness-based listening. She trained as a sound therapist and went on to manage a science-based wellness centre in Sydney, where she was responsible for coordinating programs, supporting practitioners, and delivering sound-based sessions within a structured wellbeing environment. This role strengthened her ability to design and deliver programs that are both caring and professionally grounded.

Sonia has also worked within ultra-luxury hospitality and wellness environments, including an extended role at an award-winning ultra-luxury resort in the Blue Mountains, where she delivered sound sessions for VIP and high-profile guests as part of curated wellness offerings. These experiences refined her capacity to hold safe, high-quality sound environments with discretion, consistency and care.

Sonia is a long-term student of Dr Mitch Nur, Research Director of 9 Ways Academia, the largest private academy dedicated to sound therapy education in the United States. Her training with Dr Nur emphasises sound as an experiential, research-informed practice grounded in deep listening, resonance, and the relationship between sound and silence.

Now based on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Sonia is a mother of two and balances family life with an active facilitation and creative practice. She co-organises immersive sound retreats and advanced training programs overseas in collaboration with 9 Ways Academia, and is deeply committed to creating spaces where people can pause, listen and restore themselves.

Looking ahead, Sonia’s focus is on establishing a sound-wellness practice that supports those most impacted during times of chaos and instability — including frontline workers, children and young people, and individuals and families who need additional support. She delivers sound-based programs in community settings for young people, older adults, children with additional needs, and people experiencing stress, isolation or disadvantage, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, safety and accessibility. Through this work, Sonia aims to offer sound as a practical and creative tool for community wellbeing — creating spaces of calm, connection and belonging for those who may not otherwise have access to restorative or arts-based support during challenging times.
